Caring for Pots
All my pots are handmade. That means each piece is unique and unrepeatable. Compared to mass-produced ceramics, they are more delicate and need to be handled with care. Please read below for some information on their nature and recommendations on caring for them.
I make my pots from high-fired stoneware or earthenware, which is usually rich in iron oxide. The coarse clay and cracked glazes may absorb a minor amounts of liquids, leading to a patina over time. These changes should not be considered as a flaw, but more as a natural evolution of the piece. You become a part of the work's story and the subtle changes reflect the relationship between you and the object.
Here are some tips to make sure each piece can serve you for years to come:
Hand-wash after use and avoid scented detergents and dishwasher.
Do not leave full of liquids overnight or for longer periods of time.
Let the pots dry properly. After use, leave the lids open to allow the inside to dry as well.
Some of my products need a specific attention. Please read the instructions below before the first use.
